Commissioned by ACON, I worked with Missy Dempsey to animate this video about the Impacts of the Marriage Equality Debate on LGBTQ People From CALD Backgrounds in Western Sydney, Australia.
The marriage equality postal survey had significant impacts on LGBTQ people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) living in Greater Western Sydney, with many experiencing challenges when reconciling their sexuality and gender with their cultures, faiths and families.
We used the illustrations & animation in the video to help reflect the personal stories that were shared by the participants. The graphics emphasising the main key phrases from the different stories to help amplify the voices of the LGBTQ community in Western Sydney
