An LGBTQ Short Film
‘Wherever You Are’ is a short film taking LGBTQ characters down a different track. Exploring the relationship between a father and son, the short film tells the story of a father crippled with grief, yet longing to do something for his son.
The short film was produced entirely through crowdfunding and held it’s international premiere at the Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival in October, 2016.
Production
‘Wherever You Are’ was directed and produced by two young creatives - Gabriel Virata and Joan Montesinos, who were inspired to tell an LGBTQ story through a different lens - from the perspective of a father dealing with the loss of his queer son.
The two used crowdfunding to produce the short film, with principal shooting taking place around Shrewsbury, UK in June, 2016.
Post production of the film was completed by September, 2016
